This would seem to prove that Eliza Ann Caroline Brewer was sister of George W. Brewer and since the Matthew Brewer will specifically mentions his son George Brewer, it is likely that both were children of Matthew Brewer.

According to Linda Baugh, a g.g.g.g.granddaughter of Eliza Ann, “I also have a note in my family info that says Mary Ann Hodges was the grandaughter of Gov.Wade Hampton, of South Carolina but have been unable to find any connection along those lines so far.”276
